President of Abruzzo visits Little Italy in the Bronx

Marco Marsilo, President of Abruzzo, Italy, visited Little Italy in the Bronx on April 21, 2022. He began his visit with a tour of Borgatti’s Ravioli and Egg Noodles, Terranova Bakery, Joe’s Italian Deli, Teitel Brothers, and Cosenza’s Fish Market. The tour was followed by lunch at Enzo’s, where the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) Vice Chair John Calvelli addressed the Abruzzo delegation about neighborhood’s relationship with other Bronx institutions. Piazza di Belmont returns to Little Italy in the Bronx April 22, 2022: Secret NYC, TimeOut New York, Beauty News NYC, and WPIX-TV
For the third year in a row, piazza-al fresco style dinning will return to Little Italy in the Bronx. The Belmont Business Improvement District will close vehicular traffic on Arthur Avenue from 186th Street to Crescent Avenue during weekends from Friday, May 6 through Sunday, September 25. Street closure hours will run from 6pm – 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3pm – 9pm on Sundays. The acapella group, The Belmont 4, will perform 50s doo-wop songs and Italian favorites during the last weekend of each month. NYC & Company Invites Visitors to Explore the Bronx like a New Yorker

NYC & Company encourages tourists to visit Manhattan’s borough to the north. Just a 20 minute train ride from Grand Central Station, visitors have the opportunity to explore the Bronx Zoo, New York Botanical Gardens, and Arthur Avenue from Metra North’s Fordham Road station. The Bronx Zoo is one of America’s largest zoos, home to 17,000 creatures representing 700 species, and the New York Botanical Gardens is the nation’s largest. Easter Provides Boost to Local Pastry Shops

After the challenges of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Easter is providing a much needed economic boost for pastry shops in Bronx Little Italy. Jerome Raguso of Gino’s Pastry Shop showcased his lamb figurines made entirely out of marzipan, and Anthony Artuso displayed his struffoli honeyballs. The Belmont BID, the Bronx Chamber of Commerce, Third Avenue BID, and community members and elected officials held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Bato Coffee and Wine. Bato Coffee and Wine is a new wine bar on Crescent Avenue that specializes in small plate dishes. Read more, here.
