It’s a well known fact that the best pizza is located in New York City. Thrillist put together a list of the best places for a slice, and we’re happy to share our very own Mario’s Restaurant and Zero Otto Nove made the list. Scott Wiener, Scott’s Pizza Tours, states Mario’s is “so phenomenal, a missing link of New York style pizza, dense, crunchy, built like a margarita pizza but comes out like a cheese pizza.” Regarding Zero Otto Nove he states “it’s such a gorgeous restaurant, one of the prettiest pizza restaurants. The pizza is denser than a Neopolitan pizza — you just have to breathe in the air.” Read more, here.
ACF Fiorentina Pep Rally Held on Arthur Ave

Italian professional football club ACF Fiorentina traveled all the way from Florence to the Bronx’s Little Italy for a celebratory pep rally. The neighborhood is known for its authentic, old style, Italian restaurants and this year, Mario’s Restaurant is celebrating its centennial anniversary. Today the restaurant is owned by Joseph Migliucci, but the business was originally a pizza shop opened by his great grandmother, Scolastica Migliucci and her son, Giuseppe in 1919. Read more, here.

You know a sandwich when you see one! Eater did the tough work of finding the best in the City and of course a few neighborhood joints were mentioned. At Estrellita Poblana III, get the hefty Cemita. Refried bean sread and mayo on a sesame roll top, stretchy Oaxacan cheese, avocado, smoky chipotle peppers, onion, and Mexican herbs with your choice of meat. At Casa Della Mozzarella, get the II Classico panini which features mozarella, tomato, basil and olive oil. Joe’s Deli received an honorable mention for their chicken parm. Read more, here.
Pep rally held for Bronx-raised ACF Fiorentina owner
