3rd annual Albanian street fair coming to the Bronx

The Annual Gjergj Kastrioti Skenderbeu Street Fair will return to the neighborhood for its third year on Sunday, May 19th to celebrate Albania’s history, tradition, culture, and its connections to Italy. The fair is held in honor of the Albanian military commander and national hero who led a 25-year-long rebellion against the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century. Read more here.
Bronx Times visits Cka Ka Qellu, one of the three local restaurants on New York Times’ top 100 list

The Albanian restaurant in the Bronx’s Little Italy, Cka Ka Qellu, made the list at #92 – up from #94 last year. The restaurant’s name translates to “whatever we have.” Stepping inside, visitors will be transported to a slower, simpler time, and one of the most popular dishes is the tava kosi. Read more here.
